What our badges mean

Verified Seller

Identity confirmed with a document check and a verified UK phone number. Unverified sellers show no badge — absence is the signal.

Battery health

The percentage from the manufacturer's own app or a measured runtime test, stated by the seller and challenged by buyers if wrong. Colour-coded: green ≥80%, amber 50–79%, red below 50%.

Bench Score

Our own review score for that model — months of logged testing, unit bought at retail. Links straight to the full test data.

Index price check

The listing price compared with recent achieved prices for that model on the Robot Resale Index. 'Below index' means exactly that.

Buying a used robot safely

01Check battery health first — it's the biggest hidden cost. Ask for an app screenshot if the listing doesn't show one.
02Ask about account transfer. Many robots (Roomba, DJI, Tesla) are tied to the seller's account; confirm removal or transfer before paying.
03See it run. For local pickups, watch a full start-dock-return cycle. For couriered sales, ask for a dated video.
04Firmware and subscriptions: confirm the model still receives updates and whether any features need a paid plan.
05Pay traceably. Bank transfer to a verified name or a payment service with protection — never cash-by-courier or gift cards.

Red flags we act on

Prices dramatically below index with pressure to pay off-platform, refusal to show the robot running, stock photos posing as the actual unit, and battery claims with no source. Report any listing with the “Report listing” button — a human reviews every report within 24 hours.
